HisFic is short for historical fiction discovery. Most readers search for “historical fiction books,” not the brand name—so we built a free app to find historical novels by era, place, and story type. Instead of a wall of filters, you plan a reading journey: when the story lives, where it unfolds, and what kind of tale you want—then browse the shelf of historical fiction titles HisFic builds for you.

A curated seed catalog loads instantly. Live results also pull from Open Library (subject-tagged historical fiction, English-focused). Buy links open Amazon (ISBN when we have it, otherwise title search). Export any result set as CSV or JSON.

On Bestsellers: Amazon's Historical Fiction Best Sellers (outbound), highest-rated titles by publication decade, recent prize spotlights, and optional New York Times fiction-chart picks.

Indie authors can submit a book for review. Approved titles appear on the Indie shelf and can match journey filters on Discover (era, place, story type).

Prestigious award filters:

• Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction — UK’s leading HF prize (founded 2010). Often called the most prestigious award dedicated to historical fiction.
• Society of American Historians Prize for Historical Fiction — Biennial US prize (formerly James Fenimore Cooper Prize) for historical fiction on an American subject.
